Writing Religion: Asking Questions With Open Minds

Hi!  This is a promo of a new community, writing_religion .  This is a research community for authors (original fiction, fanfiction, nonfiction) to ask questions about religious or spiritual subjects.  It is not a debate forum, and I'm going to be really picky about not letting anyone use it to try to convert people.  It is strictly meant as a research community.

I understand that these days, anytime someone sets up a community with the word "religion" anywhere near it, people freak out.  As the mod, let me just say that the kind of people who cause that type of reaction probably tick me off more than they do you, because they often enough do so while claiming to do my job. 

Please take a look at my icon.  Some of you might recognize it as Christopher Eccleston, playing the ninth incarnation of the Doctor from Doctor Who.  You might also know that the Doctor's character is a strict agnostic, and that Eccleston himself is a pretty enthusiastic atheist.  The Doctor is also a really big fan of research, and libraries, and knowledge.  I chose this icon carefully for this announcement.  This community is not about what you believe, or not- it is about asking questions about what people do and have believed, and what they have said and done about it through the centuries.  This is a research community, meant to help people write with accuracy and, perhaps, a little camaraderie.
