Awesome! I've been working on an original scifi novel since last winter and this was one of the things I've been struggling with. I have the world in my head but haven't been able to find a way to make it real in the actual novel. So far, just the character development comes across, and it seems to be the only thing. One of the concrits I get is that the world is almost non-existent. This comm would be perfect! *joins*

Exactly this! Mine's a fantasy novel, but pretty much the same thing has been happening. It's all up there in my head, but I just can't seem to get it working right in the novel.
