Yeah, several of the series I've seen of baseball anime started as manga, & I can think of at least one non-made-into-anime (great word, ha) manga series.

I'm sure you could ask for more suggestions in the comm, heh heh. ^_- It looks like there's at least one person there so far who does more manga than anime (whereas I'm the reverse) who could probably give some info!

There is a ton of sports manga. You just don't usually hear about most of it in English (aside from Prince of Tennis).

Heh, I thought about doing a general sports animanga comm, but Prince of Tennis was the one thing I thought would overrun it (& I'm not into it).
