Permaculture, anyone?

[community profile] permaculture is for anyone interested in sustainable food & sustainable agriculture. Beyond being simply organic, truly sustainable food production mimics the patterns and connections found in nature to create self-sustaining systems. In other words, beautiful, productive gardens requiring very little maintenance! Woot!

Maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit in promoting the community now, when I won't have time to write the first substantial post until the weekend ("Why Edible Forest Gardens Is The Best $100 I Ever Spent On Books") -- so maybe you can beat me to it. *g*

Very cool! I was thinking about starting a permaculture community, but am relatively new to the topic itself (though not to organic and wildlife gardening), so I decided to do [community profile] environment instead.

I will look forward to the Edible Forest Gardens review - I've been eying them greedily for months, but the pricetag makes me gulp. I did shell out for Gaia's Garden, though, and that was definitely a $20 well spent!

Absolutely no worries -- I'm totally serious about [community profile] gardening being open to any kind of gardens, but permaculture is a whole really cool area that I know next to nothing about. With all the energy flying around DW, I'm pretty sure there'll be plenty of room for both.
