Kittens and Spitefic

kittens_and_spitefic is a community with an unusual approach to prompting content: Spite.

Have you ever seen someone with the most rancid take available and the only thing you want to do is shove things at them which prove them wrong, or shower them in cat macros/lolcats to show them exactly how seriously you take them? Kittens and Spitefic may be the place for you!

The goal of this community is to prompt creativity by acting like a total troll and pretending to bash what you want to see up one side and down the other. Commenters then engage with the supposed "troll" by spamming them with cute animal pics and/or content that caters to everything the original poster professes to hate: Writing short (or long) fics in the comments, drawing the exact thing OP was ranting about, even sharing links to fic recs and meta/analysis posts. Roleplay getting one up on someone with bad opinions while creating more work for something you love, and discover new things you may be a fan of in the process!

Still not quite sure how it works? While most posts are locked to the community to prevent misunderstandings, once a month a public post is made for non-members to get a sense of how things are run. Posts never officially close, so feel free to respond to any that strike your fancy, no matter how old they are!
