october_country
The october_country: A Ficathon in Homage to Ray Bradbury for which members of the community create work - short stories, poems, or art - which finds inspiration in Bradbury's writing.
This could be done by exploring Bradbury's themes (anxiety, loss, death, innocence, nostalgia, sentiment itself, transformation, embodiment, nature, horror) through original fic or poetry, by writing fanfic based on Bradbury's characters or stories, by playing with Bradbury's style, by writing meta (criticism or, possibly, a consideration of Whitman's influence on Bradbury's imagery), or by doubling over and experimenting with how Bradbury might have handled fanfic (I think Methos, or perhaps one of the vampires, could give him a run for the money).
