photofriends is a place where hobby photographers share their experience and improve their skill.

We are hobby photographers from all skill levels with cameras ranging from phone camera to pocket size to SLR. Similarly, our subjects range from our children to our pets, to skylines at night, to macro photography.

We share tips and tricks. We tutor each other. We drool over that spiffy *insert equipment of choice here* and bemoan that we cannot afford it. We do not suffer snobs among us. (Elitists join at their own peril and will be mocked without mercy.)

If you are the proud (if sometimes puzzled or frustrated) owner of any kind of camera and want to learn how to do more than “just” point and click, we’d love to have you! We’d also love to have you if optimizing your pointing and clicking is the sum total of your photographic aspirations.

You will fit right in with us if you: read your camera’s manual and find yourself thinking “but what does it mean?”; follow the weather report to know the exact time of sunrise or sundown; might leave the house without breakfast, but not without your camera; in any given situation find yourself wishing you’d brought your camera along.
