The point of

poet_inspired is to celebrate creative contributions other than fiction writing. Through July, small prompts from the featured poet Yehuda Amichai will be posted to serve as inspiration for vids, fanmixes, podfic, fanart, icons, wallpapers, graphics, knitting patterns, photo collages, macaroni castles, picspams, meta, and more! If it's not fiction writing, we would love to see it featured on the comm.

Fandom and original contributions are equally welcome.

One of the biggest things I missed about LJ was its active journalling community - in particular, the Embodiment challenge. The Embodiment challenge is to keep at least one paper journal for an entire year - in the community, we share photos, support each other throughout the challenge, give tips and tutorials and other goodies~

Now, a dear friend of mine, who also missed the comm, has brought this challenge to DreamWidth!

It's been around for a while, but I'm really trying to get it off the ground now. To that end, there's a post asking what you want from the community and one asking about your favorite periods.

There will be regular discussion questions and resource posts on different topics, and you're always welcome to post your questions, tips, project diaries, or anything else related to historical clothing and accessories. Although the primary focus is "SCA period" (c. 500-1600ish CE), earlier and a bit later is fine, too, and you definitely don't need to be an SCA member or even a reenactor. And of course clothing from cultures outside of Europe is definitely welcome!
